Car Weight Limits a big, FAT problem!
It didn't surprise me when I sat down for breakfast today and read this headline in USA TODAY. I have known for sometime now that the automotive industry has been expanding cars because Americans are expanding their GIRTH.

You see every vehicle made and sold must have a weight capacity sticker on it. What seems to be the problem is that motorists are getting too big for their cars therefore maxing out the overall limit.
As drivers expand, car makers are retooling designs!
An article that appeared in The Boston Globe on July 10,2005 stated that overweight or obese people have an increased chance of injury or death in a accident. A 2002 study by the University of Washington at Seattle reported that a person weighing 242-262 pounds was more than twice as likely to die in a crash as a 132-pound person.
